Earning the Cultural Intelligence (CQ) Micro-Credential at Miami University has strengthened my ability to adapt and function effectively in diverse cultural environments. I began by taking a CQ self-assessment, which provided insights into my current level of cultural intelligence compared to global benchmarks. Through this process, I gained a deeper understanding of why CQ is a critical skill for navigating today’s diverse workplaces and global markets. Analyzing my assessment results allowed me to identify key areas for growth and develop a strategic plan to enhance my cultural adaptability through curricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities. By engaging in purposeful reflection and targeted development, I improved my ability to work across cultures with greater awareness and effectiveness. A final self-assessment measured my progress, reinforcing my commitment to continuous learning and cultural adaptability—key skills for success in an increasingly interconnected world.
